We are happy to invite you to in-person meeting with Artur Żmijewski on Sunday, February 10th, at 4PM. Program will include an interview and Q&A with the audience plus a small reception following the program. This event will be conducted in Polish with English on-screen translation. We are offering only 12 tickets to the public for this event due to very limited space. Tickets will be available for minimum donation of $30.00/person beginning Monday, February 4th at 12noon. First come first serve rule will apply. Two tickets maximum per person.

Artur Żmijewski – biography.
Theater, film and TV actor. Graduated from the State Theater School in Warsaw.
Recipient of several awards including a prize at the 1989 IFF Viareggio for his part in INVENTORY (Stan posiadania) directed by Krzysztof Zanussi; 1991 award of the Head of the Committee of Cinematography for the movie LAVA (Lawa) directed by Andrzej Wajda; 1992 Zbigniew Cybulski award for best actor; awarded twice (2002 and 2003) with TELEMASKA for the best Polish TV actor in 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 seasons; THREE-time laureate of TELEKAMERA for best actor of the year. Recently he played the leading part in KATYN directed by Andrzej Wajda, which in 2008 was nominated for an Oscar.

Miro Kepinski presents the art of his album covers and other graphics. Selection includes minimal illustrations such as ‘Primal Time’, ‘Digital Conductor’ or ‘Star’.
Miro is a film composer, producer and performer. His most recent credits include a feature drama ‘In This Gray Place’ with Phil LaMarr (‘Pulp Fiction’) — BEST MUSIC award at Polish Film Festival 2018 in Los Angeles and comedy-horror ‘Suicide for Beginners’ with Sid Haig (‘Kill Bill 2’) and Corey Feldman (‘Gremlins’). His score for a documentary ‘The Wounds We Cannot See’ got multiple awards in USA and India (including Best Original Music/Score at Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards, Award of Recognition – Music Score at Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards). Miro also participates at performances and festivals such as Sesilus, Silent Cinema Festival or Warsaw Festiwal ‘Innocent Sorcerers’ but also Męskie Granie Festival and Off Camera Film Festival. His music mixes minimalism with a ‘rawness’ of the north and a Slavic melancholy blended with the classic sounds. Started as a hobby Miro designed all of his music albums where used a minimal & abstract language combined with pop- and contemporary art influence.

Polish Day in LA, Long Beach 2019
June 15th, Saturday, from 2:00PM to 10:00PM
Come with your loved ones, family and friends to enjoy Polish music, delicious treats, good beer, and fun for the whole evening. There will be not only entertainment but also an art exhibit featuring Polish artists and art-works as well as a unique presentation of Polish theatrical and movie posters. There will be a small Polish-American community beauty contest where one of the most impressive Polish ladies will be honored with the title of Miss Polonia California! There will be a contest for those who can learn to pronounce some of the most difficult Polish phrases, and much more.
That’s not all! All evening long the Polka, Oberek and Polonez dance classes will be offered. Yes, the friendly instructors will be waiting for new brave students.
Fun, entertainment and a professional atmosphere is the goal here. Over 15 Polish-California institutions and Organizations, will be working hard to make sure everyone has a great time!
A dance party will be the grand finale of the night.
Along with the latest Polish hits, and many great dancers you will be having a blast!

This is going to be the 19th edition of Polish-California beauty pageant. It will take place during the Polish Day in LA, Long Beach festival on June 15th, at 8:00PM. Venue is going to be : Hellada Gallery, 117 Linden Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802.
This is a free to the public event!
The competition will start at 8:00PM with short introduction of all contestants and some questions from the judges being answered. Second part is to be the Evening Dress presentation where our Polish ladies will be judged for their grace and self-presentation to the audience. It will all end with YOU to be able to cast two votes for two of your favorite contestants. Votes will be tabulated and the new Miss Polonia California 2019 will be announced for upcoming one year long season. She will be able to participate in the national Polish-American beauty contest in New York; Miss Polonia USA 2019. Let’s find out, who is it going to be?
